Orphaned by The One
With the death of the Holy Father, i feel I was orphaned. I feel that a very good man so close to me, left me.
I know that he has not left me at all. He is just around the corner watching over me. Together with our Lord, keeping me safe.
The Holy Father has been an inspiration for many of us. Seeing his gentle face on the television is like seeing God himself. Pope John II is a true Christian. He is a role model for all of us. He has taught us how to follow the way of Christ. By his mere presence, he let us feel that Christ is indeed with us.
I feel so blessed when in 1981,I was still 2 years old then, my mom brought me to the Bacolod City airport when the Roman Pontiff arrived in the city for a celebration of the Holy Mass. I still have a photo of me being carried by my mom clad in a yellow shirt, holding a Vatican Flag.
May all of us follow the footsteps of our most beloved Pope. May he continue to inspire all of us to do more good for His glory. And may all of us imitate the goodness that he has showed to the least of our brethren. AMEN.
