Bahay na bato

This is a typical bahay na bato (stone house). Usually the ground level is made of corals or stones, then the upper level of the house is made of wood. Bahay na bato usually has large windows to allow the fresh air to come in. The windows are made with capiz shells. This translucent material permeates enough amount of light even if the windows are closed.
