Ped Xing Street
When i first saw this along the Roxas Boulevard, i thought that this was a street named after a Chinese. Later on, I realized that almost every intersection of Manila has this sign. So i bravely asked a friend what Ped Xing [Ped-Ching] is. She told me that it’s not a street name, but an acronym for Pedestrian Crossing. True enough, Iv’e seen on TV that there’s also Ped Xing in New York.

there’s also that in LA. i had the same thought as you did when i first saw that. tamang-tama, i was in chinatown in downtown LA when i saw that sign so i thought surely that must be a street name. lol
Just Yesterday, I encountered dozens of them when me and my mum were traveling to San Francisco from Butuan here in Agusan Del Sur, Mindanao, PH. We thought at first it was some chinese bilingual traffic sign(why would they have chinese here!?). We laughed when we asked and told us it was a shortened version of Pedestrian Crossing. Lol.
