Cebu is still the best! It’s an undisputed fact that Cebu today is the fastest growing province outside Manila. From economy to culture, we are the premiere province. Because Cebuanos are hardworking and world-class enterpreneurs. So the rest of the provinces, either you work hard or shut up!

    to rolfranz:

SINULOG is the MOTHER OF ALL FESTIVALS already since the 1990s as what i have heard from LAKBAY TV and also the PRESIDENT HERSELF told on speech to grace the SINULOG 2004 edition. The term MOTHER OF ALL FESTIVALS is not coined through winning the ALIWAN FESTIVAL.
Dinagyang of Iloilo’s performance is already so mediocre coz only stand and do movements, lie on the floor, move their hands, heads, feet, stand up, move to another place and do another move. SO MEDIOCRE.
SINULOG on the other hand have grace on their movement, precision, and applausability.
YOU havent seen enough of the SINULOG CONTINGENTS who also come from MINDANAO like SURIGAO CITY, TANGUB CITY, CAMIGUIN, ILIGAN CITY, AGUSAN DEL NORTE, GINGOOG CITY, and the others. HOW MUCH MORE IF THESE FESTIVALS ARE REPRESENTING REGION 10 and CARAGA REGION?

    Hi Tonz,

You are the one who tells that “…hope before people comment on issues they should know what they are talking about…” in the other site. Right?

Let me clarify the side of Dinagyang Festival…as all you know that Iloilo Contigents specially Dinagyang participated the Aliwan festival eversince it was started. Can you please check the records of Aliwan Festival results. Dinagyang contingents were always at the top three post if not the champion, other festivals are yet to prove their consistency to be on the top post.

If you are saying that Dinagyang is a mediocre…I would disagree, since you are also not an expert to say it. No less than the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has tagged Dinagyang as the “Festival of Excellent Folk Choreography.”

He should encourage Region 10 and CARAGA region festivals to join the Aliwan Fiesta. Tingnan lang natin kung ano ang ibubuga nila.

hi again sa mga cute na people dyan!

kagagaling lang po namin sa tagbilaran for the sandugo festival performance noong sunday, july 23rd. nandoon din ang ibat-ibang tribes like sinanduloy of tangub and dinagyang of iloilo. ang ipinagtataka ko po ay napakabait at napaka friendly ng mga taga dinagyang, which was extremely opposite to what i perceived them to be. hindi pala sila iyong tribu ilongot na ipinadala sa aliwan.

ngayon po ay malinaw na sa akin ang lahat.

ang tribu ilongot lang pala ang mga hindi cute sa mga tribu ng dinagyang.

sorry for my being so general about iloilo and the dinagyang in the past.

ILOILO’s DINAGYANG FESTIVAL for having been adjudged as the BEST TOURISM EVENT OF THE PHILIPPINES given in Koronadal City during the Association of Tourism Officers National Convention.

  19. Mark says:

After awarded them as the BEST TOURISM EVENT OF THE PHILIPPINES by ATOP, here’s another milestone for the dinagyang.

Dinagyang 2007 will be the first festival in the country that will have Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) focused goals.

Dinagyang-MDG will be concentrated on the Gawad Kalinga (GK) village which seeks to build houses for the poorest of the poor.

GK-Dinagyang Village will rise inside a 1.4-hectare relocation site in Barangay So-oc in Arevalo district which is intended for street kids and their families.

Dinagyang 2007 is being marketed with global innovations.
