PhotoFriday

Posted on May 5, 2006

My entry for this week’s Photo Friday Weekly Challenge. This week’s theme is famous.

When one mentions of Baguio City, Philippines, nothing comes into my mind except for the followin:, lush pine trees, cool climate, strawberry plantations, and flower farms! The Summer Capital of the Philippines has never lost its charm to a lot of people.

And during the month of February, the City of Pines celebrates its annual Panagbenga Festival. Panagbenga is a Kankanaey term for blossoming. It is during this time when flowers are starting to bloom once again. Floats covered with flowers parade the streets of Baguio during this time.

Indeed, Baguio has been famous for the Panagbenga, or the Flower Festival.
