Gray Skies

I took this photo two weeks ago along the Manila Bay, near the Manila Yatch Club. The photo clearly shows the elegant Manila scrapers as well the the yatchs in the foreground.

This was taken on a dark, rainy Sunday afternoon. At about 3PM. You may be fooled to believe that this is a black and white photo. But its not. This photo was never altered, nor changed from colored to BnW. Really. Notice the tiny glass windows of the tower, they still retained their color. :)

This is how dull Manila skies last week. Gloomy, no trace of sunshine.

Flowerbuds

I took this photograph two weeks ago when I went to Pampanga. I got this from the flower garden of my uncle in Dau, Mabalacat Pampanga.

Please stop defacing our churches!

I am encouraging each and everyone of you to please READ, understand, and SIGN the petition urging the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) to stop the further defacing of our heritage churches.

Petition text reads below:

Happy Birthday Manila!

Today, the Grand Old City of Maynila celebrates her 435th year.

Casa ManilaManila, for many is dark, dirty, noisy, and simply it lacks what ti takes to be an international city. For me Manila, is a city rich in cultural heritage. With all its beautifully crafted buildings, and monuments. In Manila one will find one of the country’s largest Chinatown. Where gold jewelries are being sold side-by-side with dumplings and fried siopao.

Manila POst OfficeIn Manila, you will find the coutnry’s original freedom park: Mendiola. And where can you find a Philippine city with two Basilicas? Only in Manila: The Quiapo Church and the San Sebastian Church.

Manila never ceases to amaze me. It’s like a kaleidoscope. There’s always something new when you take a peep into it.

How about you? what are your thoughts about Maynila? share your thoughts here by posting it in Comments.

Thank you

The magic started here

Sparks started to fly a few months back. But the magic dust just started to flicker a only few weeks ago. Everything started in this place. Large lamps stand side by side with heavy chains.

It all started here. You should know that.

‘Twas raining hard. and I was not even supposed to be in this place. It was guts who pushed to me to brave the rains.

Thanks for everything. Madamo gid nga salamat. Daghang Salamat kanimo.

Flying with fun

Do you know that at one point in time, our country has the most beautiful airline livery? Can you still remember those coloful Cebu Pacific Airline’s DC-9′s aircrafts?

I have been scouring the Internet for some interesting airline liveries, and here are some of my finds. Quite interesting, from a muslim-inspired artwork, to Olympic Games, World Cup down to….cartoons?
