The Avilon Zoo Escapade

Posted on July 13, 2006

second of a series

Avilon ZooAs a continuation to my previous post, After paying our entrance fees and decided to tour the place on our own, What grabbed our attention immediately is the vast collection of the birds. After all, The zoo’s name was taken from the word Aves, meaning birds.

Avilon ZooThere are a lot of speicies of this flying beauty that would surely capture the attention of the kids touring the zoo. There are eagles, owls, vulture, finches, parrot, cockatoo, macau, and a lot more. you can also have your picture taken with some of these birds.

What really attracted me to this section are the colorful parrots that makes a lot of noise just to get your attention. In Tagalog, they make papansin.

wow! ayos to! It was during my 4th year in school nang pumunta kami sa Malagos Garden Resort sa Davo. Ganyang-ganyan rin ang mga hayop dun esp., birds. ang sarap kausapin ng parrot. minsan kakainis. sabihan ka ba naman ng PANGIT?? hehe. *lol…

there ya go! kala ko wala kang kuha ng mga animals or hindi mo i-popost ang mga pictures nila. beautiful creatures! it’s nice to see that these animals are safe however, it’s still not their natural habitat so parang mga preso sila. i hope that our government would create stricter laws and penalties regarding animal protection and cruelty. and also preserve more areas/natural habitat for local animals.

yup.. i agree that many of these animals are not in their natural habitat.. in fact a lot of them are living in a temperature that is way out of their normal temp.

can u jaz imagine squirrels from canada, birds from amazon and autralia and the likes are in a tropical philippine zoo?

its nice to see them sa zoo.. kasi di na tayo mag babayad ng mahal airfare to travl abroad just to see them, pero nakakaawa sila…

pero the way i see it, naaalagan naman mga zoo sa Avilon.. their guides are very well trained. I did have a guided tour last year. very well articulate and alam nila ang mga sinasabi nila.
