The stairs leading to heaven
Posted on August 10, 2006
It was early morning on my second day in Baguio. It was around 6 in the morning. I heard my stomach rumbling. I felt hungry. So right at that moment, I went out of my room and looked for a bakery. I need to munch pieces of pan de sal to keep me going. While I was walking down the road, I noticed this white steps leading to nowhere.
Then there were flashes of my previous Baguio visit: Whoa! This is the Lourdes Grotto! AND I HAVEN’T BROUGHT MY CAMERA WITH ME!!! Grrr
So I climbed the 243 steps that lead to the image of Our Lady of Lourdes. I was a bit angry to myself as I didn’t bring my camera with me. And I won’t dare go back here again as my knees are aching already. The view’s spectacular. The place is so quiet. Perfect for the prayer moments. I lighted several candles and offered my prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord for bringing me back to Baguio safe and sound.
I was looking for a piece of bread, but I found heaven…
