Pottery, a fine craft perfected and brought into the country by the Chinese during the ancient times. Artisans would turn the potters wheel while shaping a piece of clay and transform it into a jar.

In Vigan, Ilocos Sur, to preseve its age old tradition, no machine is ever used in making the burnay. Instead of machines, the potter’s wheel is being kicked to make it turn, while the clay is being shaped.

This is a unique heritage and tradition the Bigueños are truly proud of.
