Tagaytay Pineapple plantation

When we recently went to Tagaytay City, my sister Ging’s boyfriend, Arthur, decided to tour us to their pineapple plantation somewhere in the city. Tagaytay City, is known not only for its cool climate but also as one of the leading producers of pineapple in Luzon.
We were caught off-guard. Most of us were just wearing shorts. And pineapple leaves have spikes at its end. Add to that are the itchy and thorny grasses on the pathway. It really was very very itchy.
But it didn’t stop us. The view of the pineapple plantation is breathtaking. There were hundreds, or shall I say, thousands of pineapples planted row-by-row. Many of its produce are delivered to the Metro Manila markets. There are also rare occations when Dole and Del Monte get their pineapple supplies in Tagaytay when their Polomolok, North Cotabato and Malaybalay, Bukidnon plantations run short of their production.
At the end of the day, we were all happy bring home several pieces of pineapples. Some of our loot was even shipped to our relatives in Bacolod. We had so much fun at the plantation. It’s all worth the itch and the scratches in our legs!
This is cool! I never heard that there’s a pineapple plantation there in Tagaytay. I wonder what kind of pineapple species are planted there. The Dole Plantation here at Oahu is already closed though it’s open for tourists for there are still some attractions aside from its historical importance and local produce.
yup vast tracts of land in tagaytay is either used for housing or for pineapple plantation.
Before I came to the Philippines I always thought pineapples were growing in trees…
i want to exactly where that plantation was…..because i want to go there and see how cool is that place can u help me? thanks
i super want to visit a puneapple plantation. would you know if anyone can just walk in there and take a tour, how much and how to go there.
