Posted on November 20, 2006

Just a few weeks ago, the Iloilo Dinagyang Foundation has launched the Dinagyang Festival 2007. The launching was held during the Western Visayas Tourism Festival in Iloilo City. The organizers promised a more bigger and more exciting Dinagyang Festival this coming January by giving out one million pesos for the grand prize winner. Hi Eric,
I heard that some Dinagyang tribes will be in Manila on December. I guess this is the national launching of 2007 Iloilo Dinagyang Festival on December 16, 2006 (Saturday). Or baka meron pang ibang celebration or contest this coming December na magjo-join sila? Do you have any knowledge or confirmation about this?

i still remember the first time i went to see a live Dinagyang Festival in downtown Iloilo. since i was a small kid then, i easily went passed thru the crowds that were standing along the street. then when i was in front and saw the dark and painted faces dancing and shouting i was terrified! i ran back to my mom & dad. hehe :D

Hi! I’m a runner from Malaysia and I am very excited to read about Dinagyang Festival and the running events that come with it. Would have loved to run the Half Marathon but it is too bad that I have registered for another run in Malaysia.

I will consider to come to this event next year. Pls keep me posted. Salamat Po!

P/S: One question: Which website/ blogs have listing of running events (10K/ 21K and Marathon) in Philippines?
