The guardian Angel

Posted on December 12, 2006

fort pilar, zamboanga

An angel guarding the gates of the Fort Pilar in Zamboanga City. The Fort is one of the most famous attractions in this lovely city. An altar being used for the Catholic Mass is located just ourside the fort’s wall, while the National Museum is located inside its walls.

Zamboanga City, also known as the Asia’s Latin City, is the only city in Asia that uses a Spanish-derivative language known as Chavacano. Chavacano is a unique dialect composed of Spanish and Visayan (mostly Cebuano) terms. Aside from Chavacano, other languages/dialects are also spoken in Zamboanga. Among them: Filipino, English, Cebuano, Samal, Yakan, Badjao, and Tausug.
