bangka

The bangka or the manually-paddled boat is an important part of the Badjao life. The Badjao tribe is a sea-faring tribe in the city of Zamboanga. They can also be found in other cities and provinces like Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-tawi. This tribe traditionally build their houses on bamboo stilts in the sea. The Badjao men uses this bangka to catch fish and to move from their house going to dry land.
