The face of the Samal Tribe

Posted on January 12, 2007

Samal girl, Zamboanga City

This is how I see the Samal tribe in Zamboanga City, Philippines: Fun-loving, and Hospitable. They always welcome visitors with open arms in their unique community. The children, just like any other kids, love to play a lot. The wide sandy beach of Zamboanga is their playground.

The Samal tribe in Zamboanga city lives in a small village near the beach. Just like the Badjao, the main livelihood of the Samal people is fishing.
