BACOLOD CITY, PHILIPPINES – Sinulog was a unique experience for me. I have never experienced a festival so large as this. A religious event attended by thousands of crowds. My trip to Cebu is a very humbling experience. Catholics, both rich and poor, hear mass side by side inside the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño.

I would like to present to you the new layout of Byahilo, I lovingly call, Orange and Lemons. I guess it’s the right time already for me to change the layout of this blog. Last major revamp was done April 2006. I hope you all like the new refreshing look of Byahilo!

These are just some of the handiwork of the Yakan tribe in Zamboanga City. The Yakan tribe is known as one of the Philippines’ finest weavers. Usually their fabrics have geometric patterns like squares, triangles, and circles.

Watch out! Orange and Lemons will be gracing Byahilo SOON!
I know a lot of people have been wanting to go to the Philippines’ largest festival. But you are still tied to your work, or no extra moolah to fly to Cebu City, or was forced to withdraw plans after all hotels are already fully-booked. Fret no more! You may still be able to witness the 2007 Cebu Sinulog Festival Grand Parade sans having to walk elbow to elbow with the crowd, without the need to stay under the heat of the sun. Watch the spectacle right in front of your computer as Sky Cable Cebu and Globe Telecom plans to do a live webcast of the 27th Sinulog Festival in Cebu City Philippines.
Recently, I have been receiving a lof of inquiries regarding the Cebu Sinulog Festival 2007 Parade Route. To answer all of these inquiries all at the same time, I have decided to post here the route map of the Sinulog Festival Grand Parade which will happen this January 21st. The parade will start at 9 in the morning and is expected to end at night time. To check the full schedule, click here.
Last Sunday, I was able to watch live on television, the the ASEAN Summit Gala Presentation at the Shangri-la Mactan Hotel the province of Cebu.
The ASEAN leaders, led by Philippines’ Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo we treated to an extravaganza one would surely never forget. Cebu City’s pride, the Lumad Basakanon of the famed Sinulog Festival opened the show with their prayer dance ritual for the Santo Niño.
It’s time to fly high once again, as the 11th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta is set to unfold in Clark, Pampanga! Expect some of the world’s best, and the most colorful ballons fly the Kapampangan skies between February 8 to 11, 2006.
