Iloilo, for the second time around
Posted by on February 19, 2007
Last weekend I went again to Iloilo for several reasons: The Chinese New Year Celebrations, The 35th Paraw Regatta, and to tour the centuries-old churches and cemeteries in this province.
First itinerary upon arrival was the the Januiay [pronounced as Ha-ni-way] Cemetery. I must say, taht this is one of Iloilo’s best kept jewel. I was so amazed at its beauty and grandeur. No doubt, every heritage freaks and architecture fanatics would love this place!

On the last day of my trip, I went to one of Iloilo’s most famous church: the Baroque Church of Santo Tomas de Villanueva in Miag-ao [pronounced as Myag-aw]. This church has been inscribed as one of UNESCO’s World Heritage Site.
