Museo Iloilo

Just a few meters away from the Iloilo Provincial Capitol is the Museo Iloilo. The museum houses the paleontological and archeological treasures of Iloilo.

Fossils, artifacts from sunken vessels can be found here. There are also stone age tools, burial jars, and pottery from China.
Old photographs depicting the old glory days of Iloilo is prominently displayed in its walls. There are also antique images of saints locally known as santos, and an image if the dead Christ known as the Santo Intierro. By tradition, the Santo Intierro is only displayed on the churches during Good Friday.

There is also a gallery that can house non-permanent exhibits by local artists. The museum is open Tuesdays to Saturdays. Entrance fee is 15 pesos for adult. Discount is given to students and children.
