Paraw Regatta

Colorful sails were unfurled once again as Iloilo City hosted the 35th Paraw Regatta Festival.

A paraw is a native outrigger used mainly for transportation and fishing. These paraws uses only the wind power to navigate. The sails are usually painted with very colorful designs.

The Iloilo Paraw Regatta, now on its 35th yar, is considered as the oldest sailboat competition in the Asian continent.
