Last weekend my friend Gian and I travelled more than 30 kilometers to see the Janiuay Cemetery [pronounced as Ha-ni-way]. This masterpiece was originally built in 1870 through the orders of Spanish Fr. Fernando de Llorente. This masterpiece which sits on top of a hill, has three stairways leading to three gates. Inside the cemetery is an octagonal mortuary chapel evident of its Gothic architechure.

It was actually my first time to visit this place and I must admit that was was so amazed at its beauty. Gian explained to the architectural features of the place, but I was able to absorb everything as I was so overwhelmed in wht I saw. I was out of words when I saw its lovely steps leading to the cemetery gates.
