April 28 was no ordinary date in the Philippine calendar. It was the day when the 5th Aliwan Fiesta was held in Manila, Philippines.
Aliwan Fiesta is an event organized by the media outfit Manila Broadcasting Corporation. It’s aim is to bring all the festivals of the country in Manila for a one big festival championship. As expected, thousands drove to the streets of Manila, from Quirino Grandstand, down to the Aliw Theater in CCP Complex to witness the four kilometer-streetdance.

The results are in! Aliwan Fiesta 2007 was a real blast and a great treat for all photographers. This year’s Aliwan festival is better-organized compared to last year. Complimentary bottles of water were provided to the press (that’s us! ahehe) more secured area at the press box, and lastly, thank God, it didn’t rain.
If I placed a bet on the festivals that are going to excel, I could have been richer now. ALL of the festivals I expected to stand out made it to the top ten. And just after the performances, I made another prediction on who’s going to be at the top 3. And I accurately predicted it all. Gosh.
Here’s the results of the Aliwan Festval 2007:
Because of the ever increasing number of devotees, church autorities decided tobuild a new and larger church that could accomodate the largenumber of devotees.
