San Antonio de Padua Church
Posted on April 19, 2007
The 5th church we visited during our Visita Iglesia was the Diocesan Shrine of San Antonio de Padua in the historic town of Pila, Laguna.

This cenutry-old church has a unique belfry because its color is not the same as with the church facade. The church was built using the Barque architectural design. But what surprises me is that its interiors are no longer age-old. Only the facade remains original.

At the back of the altar, one can pay homage and venerate the relics of San Antonio de Padua. The glass casing is surrounded by jewels. San Antonio de Padua is the patron saint for lost objects. A lost of people has already claimed miracle attributed to this saint in Pila. And Catholic believers from nearby towns and cities flock to this church seeking answers to their prayers.

actually, the Diocesan of St. Anthony is more than 400 years old, not just a century.
