Ligñon Hill

Ligñon Hill, originally uploaded by Enrico_Dee.

This was the second destination in my Bicolandia trip. When friends told me that we’re going to hike the Ligñon [pronounced as Lin-yon] Hill, I just easily said yes. I would never even thought that it was one heck of a climb! We reached the hilltop a few minutes past sunset and the wind there is strong. It reminds me of Tagaytay actually.

One of the Phivolcs observatory can be found in Ligñon Hill. The hill provides a breathtaking view of the Legazpi skyline. You can even see the commercial airlines landing and taking off at the Legazpi airport.

At night you can also see the crater glow of the Mayon Volcano. On a clear, cloudless night, the top section of the volcano glows like a small light bulb due to thewith traces of lave at the crater.

Legazpi’s Sleeping Lion

Sleeping Lion, originally uploaded by Enrico_Dee.

Legazpi, a first class city and the capital of the province of Albay in the Bicol region. And when you say Bicolandia, there are only two things that come into my mind: Mayon Volcano and the uber spicy foods like Bicol Express, and Laing.

The first sound of shutter…

Last Monday, April 16 I flew for the first time to the Bicol region. I took a Manila-Legazpi flight via Cebu Pacific. I was just so unfortunate that of all the flights departing from the Manila Domestic Airport, it’s only the Manila-Dumaguete and the Manila-Legazpi flights that got delayed. I arrived in Legazpi 2 hours late than my original arrival time. Upon setting foot in Albay, Skyscrapercity Legazpi-based forum members Dex and Mond toured me around the city, and our first destination: The port of Legazpi. the clicking sounds of the shutter can then be heard here and there to document my first ever journey to the Bicolandia.

Magdalena Church

The sevent, and the last church I visited last Holy Wednesday is the church of Magdalena, Laguna. The churhc was built during the Spanish period using bricks and pre-cut stones. But this church is not only famous for its architectural design. A secret that is just lying nat the corner of this church.
