Aliwan Fiesta 2007 Visayan Contingents

Every Aliwan Fiesta, I always have high expectations for the Visayan contingents. If I am not mistaken this is the third straight year that Visayas is getting the top three slots. Aliwan 2005 was a monopoly of the Iloilo province. That year the champion was the Pintados de Pasi of Passi City, 2nd was the Dinagyang Festival and the 3rd was the Kahilwayan Festival of Santa Barbara, Iloilo
2006 was still a Visayan domination. Last year’s champion was the Cebu City’s Sinulog, runner-up was the Iloilo Dinagyang and the 3rd place winner is Pintados de Pasi.
This year, the awards were split by three visayan regions. This year’s Champion is the Sinulog Festival of Cebu City from Central Visayas (Region 7). 1st runner up is the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City Western Visayas (Region 6) and the 2nd runner-up is a newcomer Alikaraw Festival of Hilongos, Leyte of Eastern Visayas (Region 8 )
