Basilica Minore del Peñafrancia

One of the most important icons of Bicolandia is Nuestra Señora del Peñafrancia.
Our Lady of Peñafrancia is the Patroness of the entire Bicol Region. And because of the growing number of devotees, the people built a new church dedicated to the Lady. Later on the church was elevated by the Vatican to the status of Minor Basilica (Basilica Minore). One of the features of the Basilica is a dome shaped multi-purpose hall located in front of the chuch. Another noteworthy feature of the church is its stained glass done in vibrant colors.
During the Feast Day of Peñafrancia in September, our Lady’s image is transferred by the Basilica to the Naga City Metropolitan Cathedral.
