For those who missed the Aliwan Fiesta…

Posted on May 25, 2007

It’s your chance to see the two of the Philippine’s best festivals perform once again. Staff members from the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City and the Alikaraw Festival of Hilongos Leyte has already confirmed that they will be back in Manila once again.

I have read from another forum that the Dinagyang Festival will no longer be performing for the Independence Day Rites. According the the news, this year’s performers will be the Cebu Sinulog Festival, the Alikaraw Festival of Hilongos, Leyte, and the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival of Zamboanga City.

The Aliwan Fiesta 2007 Champion, Sinulog Festival together with the 2 other Aliwan Top 10 Festivals will be perfoming at the Quirino Grandstand in the morning of June 12, 2007, during the Philippine Independence Day Rites.

Last year there were four festivals invited to perform at this event: The Kahilwayan of Santa Barbara, Iloilo, Dinagyang of Iloilo City, Halad Festival of Pigcawayan, North Cotabato and the Pamulinawen Festival of Laoag City. I have yet to confirm if there will be two other festivals who will be performing with Dinagyang and Alikaraw. There will only be three festivals who will be performing in this years Independence Day rites.

Just a tip: come to the venue early, and don’t forget to bring umbrella, as the program usually ends just before lunch time.

Dinagyang will not be performing for the Independence Day Rites but they will invade the USA.
They were invited to perform in 2007 Texas Folklife Festival in San Antonio, Texas, US on June 8-10.

Umaandar na naman ang INGIT! Ito talaga ang masamang ugaling ng pinoy ang maging isip talangka! This is very sad!

    ryan,
try to face yourself in a mirror at tanungin mo ang sarili mo kung tama ba ‘yang asal mo.
Kaylan pa kaya magbago ang pinoy.
