Traipsing through the largest Art Deco Complex

Posted on June 29, 2007

I recently joined Ivan Man-Dy’s initial run of the A FEU Good Men Tour. Through the tour we explored every nook and cranny of what is known as the largest Art Deco complax in the Philippines.

FEU

It was my first time to get inside the campus of the Far Eastern University. FEU is also known as the first non-sectarian university built in the Philippines. If only I studied in FEU, I could have been more inspired to study my Algebra, Physics and Calculus more.

FEU

The tour is approximately 1.5 hours and was supposed to end at the theater, but we all decided to check out another heritage building a few blocks away from the university. Part 2 coming soon!

your professor could be referring to the Manila Metropolitan Theater or
simply known as the Met in Lawton near Manila Post Office

    kuya eric!

alam mo naman sigurong super tamad ako mag-comment pero di ko palalagpasin ‘to.I love the FEU complex because it’s so art deco! I remember while we were making their website a few years back, mangha lang talaga ako.

cubao used to be art-deco infested rin, as far as my age can remember. may ‘remnants’ pa malapit sa cubao x.

    Aaron,

Malabong Art Deco yung mga gusali diyan sa Cubao kasi ang Cubao, nagsimula lang noong dekada 50-60 at tapos na ang panahon ng Art Deco (1920’s noong panahon ng Amerikano.

    Alvin,

You may log on to http://www.oldmanilawalks.com for the next ‘A FEU Good Men’ tour.
