Now, it’s your time to do the walking

Posted on July 1, 2007

You have read my adventures at the Far Eastern University here and here. You seen how beautiful their campus is. Now you know that FEU is the largest Art Deco Complex in the Philippines.

But hey, don’t just stop there! This time, give your self a chance to marvel at the Manansala sculptures, futuristic-looking pillars, and geometrically-patterned windows and doors. Get a chance to step inside the first non-sectarian university of the Philippines. Step inside the campus that has been recognized by UNESCO for its monumental works.

Ivan ManDy will once again conduct the A FEU Good Men Tour inside the Far Eastern University Campus on July 21, 2007, Saturday at 9:00 AM. Best of all, the tour is FREE! Who doesn’t love freebies, anyway? Limited Slots only. Now Go! Sign up now and be charmed by FEU’s beauty.

I am a graduate of Far Eastern University and There are a lot of history in this University .

The university is a headquaters of the Japanese army during the war and hundreds are killed during the torture and ended up in the creeks nearby , Isetan Recto was a former part of an estero which runs near the present day former hospital of FEU.

The University library was destroyed and heavily looted during the closing days of the war , then there was a big fire in 1989 which destroyed a lot of old books in the library .

A commemorative stamp was issued in 1978 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the university and 2003 which commemorates the 75th anniversary of the university .

One of the few schools which have its Postal Service station along with UE, UST , Arellano , EARIST - sadly it closed down in 2003 ( Ehem , rumor mill said that the present day administrators are irked by the people passing within the university grounds for security reasons)just sending mails. so they just decided to close the Postal Service Station much to the dismay of people living near FEU!
