I’m a fish again!

Posted on July 30, 2007

Oh boy. It’s Monday. The start of week for thousands of Filipinos. While mine starts on a Saturday, It’ just today that I will get to feel the effects of my freaking shift schedule.

No. don’t get me wrong. I LOVE my work sched right now. It’s 9PM-6AM. What really freaks me out is the traffic jam along the stretch of EDSA during the 6-8PM period. Add to that, the canned sardines situation at the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) from Guadalupe station to Quezon Avenue. It’s just hard to imagine, but it’s real: I’m one of the fishes again, for the next two weeks. And the burden of me being a fish doesnt just end there. Going back home is another challenge for me to swim through. At 6AM schoolkids and the yuppies are now piling up at the Quezon Avenue station to get the morning’s train. All of them still looking fresh, boxing out for the best spot on the train and Amoy bagong paligo. While I, the haggard looking fish, goes home in lupaypay mode already.

Whew. I just hope that All these schoolkids and the yuppies are still in their beds when I go home. And I hope that all of them will go home at 4in the afternoon so that I’d be the only person to take the train later tonight! Hahaha dream on…
