Is your food Joint Earth-Friendly? part 1
Posted by on August 1, 2007
I was actually inspired by Lalon dela Rosa’s post about use of styrofoam by the fastfood companies he wrote yesterday.
Yup, it’s true that there are now a handful of these food joints that stopped serving foods in styrofoam platters, and instead use recycled paper boxes and other materials than can be easily washed and be used again. But who are these food joints that have already made a conscious effort in trying to save mother earth from her demise?
Well, that could be my next mission. Haha. I will try to scour the mall later this afternoon before going to office and do some random check on how they serve their foods. Fireworks, confettis and congratulations are in order for those who are deemd as “earth-friendly”, and eternal damnation for those insensitive fastfood joints who are still using the styrofoam.

Jollibee has started using reusable utensils for their dine in customers
dapat dati pa nila yan ginawa… Oh well, better late than never
it’s great to see consumer awareness increasing these days. climate change advocates look forward to the day when people will demand that their electricity be generated renewable sources. we’re still a long way from that, right now the main motivation is still cost, but hey, today the styrofoam, tomorrow the world!
yup jollibee is serving their foods on plates and utensils.. so as ChowKing.. pero sa take-out orders eh styro pa rin yung ginagamit nila. =(
at least Starbucks… my favorite is using a biodegradable cup…
