While the rain’s pounding Metro Manila…
Posted on August 9, 2007
I woke up to a cold Wednesday afternoon yesterday. It’s like having an A/C turned on for hours. Sarap matulog… this is my first time, that I was awakened by my alarm clock. You see, I usually wake up, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before my alarm rings. But this time, I have it snoozed twice.
And because it is raining, the entire Metro Manila was almost obliterated in the map again. Actually some areas have already been deleted from the map. Heavy and continuoos downpour led to the flooding in many areas.
And because it’s typhoon season, I am now allowed to go to the office in pambahay attire. For today, I just wore a red Big Brother shirt (written in Chinese) and a pair of jeans rolled up to my knees. For my footwear, I just slipped on my thong sandals. Cool and comfortable. Tomorrow, it’s going to be much cooler. Hahaha board shorts, Tshirts and thong sandals again. It’s as if I’m hitting the beach.
While inside the office, it’s still the usual daily grind that you get to encounter. Rants here and there, gossip here and there. And to keep my sanity intact while working, I just turned on my playlist. And get a good dose of music. Hahaha don’t laugh at my playlist. I LOVE Canto Pop, Jpop, Kpop! My playlist is so diverse, as what my friend says. It contains music in Korean, Chinese, Japanese, English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Gipsy languages. And I love them all.
Right now, I kinda fixed to the Fugees. One of the first hip hop groups that I really admired. I love their version of Roberta Flack’s classic Killing Me Softly and their version of Ready or Not. I know it’s just a cover version, but who cares. I still love it.
I’m also hooked to several Chinese and Korean music. Specifically the music from Wang Lee Hom, and Kangta & Vaness. Vaness was once part of that Chinese group that invaded the Philippines a few years back: the F4. And yeah, I still love Penny Tai’s Ni Yao De Ai. That music was used as the closing theme for the hit series “Meteor Garden”
Oh, Bop to the Top! I love this song! I feel giddy when I hear it. I has this unique Latin beat which urges my subconsious to dance. Hahaha

Two of my favourite songs as well - Fugees’ Killing Me Softly and Ready or Not that is. What ever happened to Lauryn Hill?
