A week of silence?
Posted on November 1, 2007
If you have noticed, I haven’t posted any decent article. and it’s really really quite odd for me not to post at least 3x in a week.
One of the main reasons why I haven’t posted is because I got quite busy lately in the office. and yeah, I have to make this announcement here in my blog: AFTER FOUR LONG YEARS, I HAVE RESIGNED FROM SYKES ASIA.
Nah, not that I hate Sykes. I love Sykes. I love the benefits they give to its employees. And I dont actually any plans of leaving the company.
It was just one fine day, I was invited for a job interview. At first, I didnt show up. But their IT manager is so keen they they asked me to comeback again and give it a try.
So I finally gave it a shot. I never really took it seriously. Because back in my mind, I know that my life is already comfortable at SYKES. Then 3 days later they called me, informing me that I’ll be having my Final interview a week after. Geez, I was so surprised.
And because I dont took it seriously, I went to the final interview wearing Tshirt, jeans, and spiked hair. Not a typical jobinterview getup, right?
And so it all happened. I passed the final interview. I was presented the job offer sheet. And yeah, without any second thought, I signed it.
I took the job offer not really because of the compensation package, but because of the nature of work. I will noe be having a regulat 1PM-10PM shift Manila time. Fixed restdays Saturday and Sunday. At least now, I can schedule my trips in advance.
I am officially out of Sykes by November 7. I am currently on terminal leave. I will be starting with my new job on November 12 at Societe Generale de Surveillance or SGS
