Posted on November 7, 2007
For MRT and LRT commuting public, you must have noticed the front page photo of the free newspaper Libre yesterday. The cover featured a man checking out the exhibit at the Manila Post Office in Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila Philippines.
And a week before this exhibit actually openend, I was at the Manila Post Office to check out what’s happening there during the weekend. Yeah, I was a hot and humid Sunday afternoon.
Before we even sat foot at the post office building itself, Filipinas Stamp Club member Lawrence, toured us around the post office area, and showed us the highlights of this magnificent building. At the time we went there, the ASEAN stamps were on display. This time, another set of postage stamps are on exhibit.
Featured on this months display are the artworks by Filipino painters, Filipino comics characters and super heroes, as well as Walt Disney postage stamps.
The Filipinas Stamp Club is holding a mothly auction of rare and valuable postage stamps from Philippines as well as from other countries. They also auction off other collectible items like coins and banknotes.
More about the Manila Post Office soon!
