Comments on: Dinagyang Banned from competing in Sinulog Festival 2008?

I’ve personally asked mr Ricky Ballesteros one of Sinulog Foundation’s head, about this issue. and he said Dinagyang Festival is invited to join Sinulog 2011 as a competing delegation.
I would love to see Dinagyang show there first time performance in Sinulog 2011. and hopefully there first Championship Crown.
My dear Ilongo brothers and sisters? i’m a cebuano and its time that we work together and promote more each of our festivals. like pinstados de passi they joined Sinulog 2006.
we hope we can see u here in Cebu perform? and grab a championship title…

all i can say is viva sr sto nino! now for cebu…ok na sa inyo na best ang lahat, the best festival, the MOOSSSTTT PROGGREESSIVVE CITY in the philippines, maluluma ang makati and manila sa inyo…..ka level niyo dapat Singapore…..dapat philippines should change the capital city to CEBU….DAVAO? ew na insecure lang sa inyo yan…BORACAY? ew! ang pangit nga ng beach nila mas maganda sa inyo the best talaga parang miami, florida nga nga ang mactan island, at tsaka mga malls sa manila ew!!!! mas maganda malls niyo! at ang gaganda at ang ga gwapo ng mga tao sa city niyo so mga cities in the Philippines huwag na kayong mag – ambisyon abutin ang cebu…that includes makati or quezon city or manila..wala kayung binatbat sa cebu..bwahahaha…walang kokontra(paligayahin nating mga taga cebu)..

one tibe in sinulog 2010 copied the used of feathers and using of big drums of dinagyang..

also the poster of warrior and black mask which is authentic of dinagyang was used as a logo of sinulog 2010..he he.

so who is copycat and insecure?

I am speaking as a Cebuano. I don’t care about the rift between these two festivals. Festival or no Festival, Cebuano’s and Ilonggos are like cats and dogs. Questions arise. Who is more superior blah blah. Call me bias but for me, Sinulog is like the biggest festival in this country. Sinulog’s choreo is all but the same year after year, of course that’s why it’s called Sinulog, we have this 2 steps forward, 1 step backward thingy when dancing sinulog. Which is very unlikely compared to Dinagyang, head bang here, jump in there and what not. Do you know how many Filipinos (from Cebu and all over the Philippines) and foreigners flock to Cebu City to witness the festival? Yes, I’m bragging because i know that we Cebuanos have something to brag about. And Ilonggos are bragging too, coz they also have “the best festival in the philippines” recognition to brag about. Isn’t that enough? And why would Dinagyang have to join Sinulog in the first place? Why? Don’t ever tell me it’s “for santo nino” kind of crap coz i won’t buy it. No offense Dinagyang but Maskkara Festival is much better than your festival in my own opinion. I wonder why Ilonggos can’t be like Bacolodnons. You guys speak the same Hiligaynon dialect but as a Cebuano, it seems to me, Ilonggos are really pure tikalon compared to our brothers in Bacolod. Now Im ranting. I just can’t accept the fact that after you guys throw unkind words to our festival, bashing our ritual, you still have guts to tell everyone that Sinulog sucks. If your too proud of what your Dinagyang has acheived through it’s “recognition” then please Ilonggos leave us Cebuanos and our Sinulog alone and mind your province which is far more unproductive than our beloved Cebu. Now that’s a fact.
