Byahilo at the Philippine Travel Tour Expo
Posted on February 27, 2008
Last February 16 I went to the Mall of Asia to check out the Philippine Travel Tour Expo. The Philippine Travel Tour Expo is an annual event held every February. The event is known in offering drop down prices for both local and international package tours. Local and international airlines have also dropped their airfares. Hotels and resorts have also cut their booking rates.
Each and every exhibitor has their own ways of attracting people. From offering 50% off on hotel rates, to free coffee, t-shirts, ball pens, playing cards, and a whole lot more. There are some hotels that even give free overnight stay in any of their branches. There was even a travel agency that offers 50% off on ALL China tours.
I was able to book a hotel accommodation for my managers who will be arriving from Geneva, Switzerland this summer. I was able to get a 50% off the published rates for their Boracay trip.
One of the pavilions that really caught my fancy is the pavilion of Mindanao. All the regions of Mindanao have all gathered under one roof to promote the beauty and the richness of Mindanao. Travel brochures from various Mindanao City can found here for free. There are brochures from Bislig, Tangub City, Davao, GenSan, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, Surigao and a whole lot more.
Macau also has an eye-catching pavilion. Malaysia has built its scaled-down version of the Petronal Tower here.
And to keep the people entertained while shopping for travel packages, various groups perform dance number at the stage. I was able to catch the performances T’boli tribe of Mindanao.
