Byahilo’s Holy Week schedule

Posted on March 13, 2008

This coming Sunday is the start of the Holy Week already for the Catholic faith bellievers. I, being a Catholic myself observes this most holy days in our Christian Calendar.

One of the unique Filipino traditions that I have been practising is the Visita Iglesia. Visita Iglesia is a Spanish term meaning Church Visit. During this unique Lenten Season tradion, one goes to seven churches and reflect onf the seven last words uttered by Jesus. Special prayers may also be said.

Last year my Visita Iglesia featured the seven marvelous churches of Laguna. This year, I am still finalizing my list. It can either be an all-Manila pilgrimage or a combination of some Metro Manila Churches with one from the North or from the East.

The BYAHILO Visita Iglesia Series starts this monday!

If you’re doing an all-Manila Visita Iglesia, can I tag along? I’m stuck in Manila this Holy Week as well :D

If you happen to visit southern Metro Manila try to visit St. Joseph Parish a.k.a. Bamboo Organ here in my hometown of Las Pinas.
