SEAIR Dornier 328: Flying to Coron Palawan the fastest way
Posted on June 14, 2008
It is not my first time to fly using the SEAIR’s Dornier 328 plane. Last January I went to Boracay and flew to the island paradise for only 35 minutes. Yep, in just a little over than half an hour. And for the second time around, I flew to another island paradise. This time, it’s Coron Palawan.
Nina and I were supposed to go to Zamboanga City and Basilan last weekend. The very weekend when ABS CBN Cameramen and TV Host Ces Drilon was kidnapped by Abu Sayaff. We abandoned the plan sometime in May due to the volatile situation in the area.
Right at that moment, SEAIR also started their flight to Busuanga Palawan. We grabbed the opportunity. SEAIR gave us the chance to travel to Coron Palawan in 35 minutes! It is actually the fastest way of going to the Paradise islands in northern Palawan.
Contrary to popular belief, flying with smaller aircraft is not a horrific experience. And I myself can attest to that. The take off and landing, which is the very crucial part in flying is very smooth. You don’t get to feel the bump during landing, nor the sudden upward tilting of the plane when taking off.
The interior is just ok for me. Except that the windows don’t have blinds when direct sunlight hits you. The legroom is just enough. Considering that I always need a spacious area for my long legs.
And even for a short 35-minute flight like this, I am surprised that the mini skirt-wearing flight attendant offered us some snacks.
And because we are flying to Coron Palawan on a smaller 32-seater Dornier plane, we also cruised at a lower altitude. This means we get to view the landscape at a different perspective.
When booking for flight to Coron Palawan with SEAIR, ask your travel agent which flight time does Dornier 328 operate.
