BYAHILO just returned from the Tacloban Leyte Sangyaw Festival

Posted on June 30, 2008

Im back here in Manila! After the vert traumatic incident that prevented me from flying last Saturday, I was able to finally fly to the 32nd province in my list. The regional Capital of Eastern Visayas: Tacloban City.

I have a detailed itinerary that should have been followed if not for that airport problem. And because I was not able to fly last Saturday, I was left with only 24 hours to stay in Tacloban. And all Sundat afternoon is blocked for the Sangyaw Festival. And because of the very very tight schedule, I was left with only two tourist spots to visit: The San Juanico Bridge and the Santo Niño Shrine.

The Sangyaw Festival is successful. Tacloban’s main thoroughfares are lined with so many people eagerly awaiting for the dancers to parade theit colorful costumes.

It’s just so bad that I really dont have so much time to explore the other sites Leyte is known for, or even taste the Flavors of Waray.

Right now I’m back to reality. Back to my dayjob with so many pending tasks to finish. I also have somany pending blog posts lined up. 2 blog events prior to my Tacloban trip, Hundreds of photos that needs to be resized and watermarked and uploaded.

For now, just enjoy these photos taken yesterday during the Sangyaw Festival 2008 in Tacloban City. More photos soon!
