BYAHILO celebrates indie art at the Jansport event
Posted by on July 25, 2008
I recently attended an event by Jansport as it celebrates indie art in the Philippines. The lunch event was held at Mag:Net café at the Bonifacio High Street.
Invited at the event were members of the print and TV media as well as bloggers. It was a great occasion seeing other bloggers friends again. Shoutouts to Nina, Melo, Juned , Poyt Noemi Arpee and Noreen and AJ.
It was a day of tattoo, wall art and graffiti. Artistry was definitely all over the place as Jansport, maker of quality backpacks released their newest line of product: backpacks with graffiti art. The designs are just so cool. The bags definitely celebrates ones individuality. Their uber cool van with graffiti art was even there at the venue! Such a lovely ride! Definitely a head turner in EDSA.
JanSport continues to celebrate its hippie heritage with its Graphic Remix line of bags inspired by this generation’s most definitive counterculture which is the Indie community. The Graphic Remix line’s quirky and anti-conformist designs like graffiti, doodles, pop art and calligraphy fits the Indie community’s passion for creativity, originality and individuality.
While graphics enthusiasts had a field day watching the country’s best street art crews We Will Doodle, Pilipinas Street Plan, and Samahang Batang Aerosol take art out of the confines of an art gallery with impromptu graffiti, sketches and doodles.

wow! hehehe para ngang 70s!
nag enjoy ako dun sa event… sayang di ka nakasama samin ni Nina kumain kami sa Pepper Lunch… sarap
I could’nt leave the house without my messenger bag. I sort of used to be a person who doesn’t bring anything. My wallet would be neough most of the time but I find it really convenient that my pockets aren’t bulging. Pretty in style to boot too.
