Hello Byahilo!
Talagang inisa-isa mo lahat ng mga festivals dto sa Pilipinas ah
Happy travels!
byahilo, what’s the difference between kadayawan and sinulog? do they also use the sto nino in kadayawan? is it a religious festival or completely cultural?
thanks!
sinulog is religion-based. its main theme revolves around santo nino and it has the basic dance step which is 2 steps forward 1 step backward. Sinulog music also has the standard sinulog beat.
kadayawan on the other hand is not religion based. its a festival of thanksgiving because it is harvest time in davao at this time. it is also te time for the 10 tribes of davao to showcase their unique cultural heritage which can not be seen in other regions.
kadayawan dotn use sto nino
the costume and the story lien of kadayawan
is originally from midsayap ( maguindanao)
davao has no original culture they only copyrigthed the maguindanaos
……..

Davao is the melting pot of diverse culture in the Philippines. Pinaka-unique sa lahat ng regions kase lahat ng blood strain ng ibat-ibang Pilipino nandirito. Wow Davao!!!!
Kadayawan…….meaning ‘KABUTIHAN’ o ‘KAGANDAHAN’
