Experience wellness at the Nurture Spa Tagaytay

Posted on September 4, 2008

My stress level has been building up since I travelled to Cebu three weeks ago for the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival and last week in Davao City for the Kadayawan Festival 2008. Add to the stress factor my lack of sleep and the recurring backache.

So it was a welcome relief when I received an invite from Claire to join a few other bloggers for a morning of spa treatment at the Nurture Spa in Tagaytay City Philippines.

Upon arrival we were served suman and diced mangoes with hot chocolate. If we will base it from the novel Noli me Tangere, we were served the premium “Tsokolate Eh” and not the watered down version “Tsokolate Ah.” The hot chocolate drink tastes good. It has a rich consistency and the sweetness is just enough. It still has the bitter taste real chocolates are known for.

After the hearty breakfast we then had our spa treatments. We were to select what kind of service we are going to have. I chose the traditional Filipino Hilot massage coupled with shoulder and neck massage.

The massage service is so good. It was so relaxing that I immediately dozed off right after the session started. I wasn’t even aware that SMS messages have been pouring in my phone. It was on mute but the vibrator is turned on.

After an hour and a half of heavenly and relaxing massage, I got awakened when the staff informed me that the massage session is already over. He then offered a warm cup of tea.

Lunch at the Nurture Spa Tagaytay is good too. For starters we had garden salad with the Nurture Spa Signature Oriental Dressing. Their salad dressing is so good. The strong aromatic flavour of the sesame oil blends well with the vegetables.

To quench our thirst we had dalandan carrot shake. It has the flavour of freshly squeezed dalandan and the flavour and texture of carrots. The beverage is really good.

We were also served fried lumpiang ubod. It’s good, too. But I would prefer to have my lumpiang ubod served fresh, rather than fried.

For main course I ordered Rib Eye steak cook medium rare. The meat came from Batangas, a province known to be a source of excellent local beef. The meal is good and tender.

After lunch we toured around the property. There were Ifugao huts for those who wish to stay overnight. Nurture Spa has A/C rooms and fan rooms available for those who wish to stay overnight.

All in all, the Nurture Spa experience is a relaxing one. It has relieved me with all the backache I have been complaining for days and at the same time treated me to a sumptuous lunch.
