Internationally acclaimed Masskara Festival has drawn thousands of local and foreign tourists into the city over the years to take part in the merry-making.
Masskara was conceived by local leaders almost 30 years ago to give a joyful mood to a city drowned in sorrows as they mourn for their loved ones who perished with the sinking of a passenger ship- Don Juan.
The populace positively responded to the idea and was soon dancing to the beat of the music chosen to enliven the affair.
