Bo’s Coffee Club: Serving the freshest Filipino Coffee, Passionately.
Posted on October 13, 2008
It was a rainy morning. The air is a bit cold. Never a perfect time for a blogger event. But perfect for a cup of piping hot coffee. I almost didn’t show up at the Bo’s Coffee Club Blogger event last week. But who could’ve resisted a warm cup of coffee on a rainy morning?
I braved the dowonpour and pushed my self to the Bonifacio High Street for a morning of fun as we get to discover secret in making great tasting coffee.
Accroding to Mr. Steve Benitez, CEO of Bo’s Coffee Club, the secret to their coffee brew is that their beans are 90% sourced within the Philippines and these are all freshly roasted. This means that After roasting the beans, it should reach the Bo’s coffee shops for brewing within 3 days. That’s how passionate they are in making coffee.
As an added treat, the eight bloggers who braved the rains where asked to group into two. My groupmate was Arpee Lazaro. What we have to do is actually concoct our own drink: be it a coffee, tea or fruit-based beverage.
Sir Steve, said that the winner’s beverage will be featured in Bo’s Coffee Club Bonifacio High Street branch for a month while the non-winning beverage will be featured for a week.
Arpee and I decided to create a hot coffee beverage. We had espresso added with caramel, some more syrup topped with cream, crushed Oreo, chocolate bits, and a dash of cinnamon.
We decided to call our coffee “Amazing Byahilo.” We may not have won the judges nod, but it was really fun imagining all the possible flavour you can add for your drink.
Amazing Byahilo will be available for a week at the Bonifacio High Street branch sometime next month. We’ll keep you posted once we get the update.
Aside from great tasting coffee, Bo’s Coffee Club also offers tea, fruit juices, cookies, pasta, and cakes at reasonable prices.
Thanks to Bo’s Coffee Club and Yehey! Philippines for organizing this event.
