Cebu Sinulog 2009 Updates

The famous Sinulog Festival of Cebu City promises to be the grandest ever. The sinulog Festival 2009 Finale will be Polynesian-themed. The stage will be designed with a large rock and waterfalls big enough to fit a canoe.

Traditionally the Sinulog Finale is lead by the Cebu Province First Lady, Margot Osme?a. But since her husband, Governor Tomas Osme?a is in the United States, the organizers have decided to pick Miss Earth 2008 Kalra Paula Henry, also a Cebuana, to lead the finale dance number.

Henry will be accompanied by more than 200 dancers from various dance troupes. The finale number will be highlighted by fireworks worth PHP300,000.

Tickets for the Abellana Sports Complex juding area for Sinulog 2009 will be available starting January 1, 2009.

Alothough the registration period for the Sinulog Street Dance Parade is still ongoing, there are already four contingents coming from Negros Oriental, four from the province of Leyte, four from Mindanao and one from the Bicol Region.
