Viva Vigan!

Just recently, I visited the historic town of Vigan again. This charming old city has never failed to amaze me. Though I have been to this part of the country before, I still enjoyed my trip because I was able to experience Vigan in a different way!

Upon arriving at the city formerly known as the Ciudad Fernandina, I immediately hopped on a calesa with other bloggers Audrey, Monic, and Mee-I. Audrey has been my high school classmate when we were still in Bacolod, but I guess this is our first time to travel together as bloggers. And yup, it was also my first time to try a calesa ride.

Ever since I never ride a calesa for fear that the horses won?t be able to carry my weight, but Lo and Behold! The horse managed tour me around Vigan! It was a thrilling experience!

We then head to Chavit Singson?s Zoo known as Baluarte. Baluarte in Vigan houses several animals like snakes, birds, ostrich, pony, tiger, iguana and a whole lot more. We really had so much fun there.

And a visit to Vigan will never be complete without checking out its heritage district and the Vigan Cathedral. It was my first time to see Vigan on a nighttime. So I was excited to take photos of various familiar spaces on a dark night. Something that is not common in postcards or travel books.

And Vigan experience will never be complete without trying its Ilokano culinary pride. I was so thrilled to once again taste the best Vigan Empanada served at its historic district and Pinakbet along Calle Crisologo itself.

The Vigan trip was exciting though not all of the items in the itinerary were followed. Please stay tuned for my detailed story on my recent Ilocandia trip!
