Cultural Center of the Philippines turns 40!

“Life begins at 40″, but for the Cultural Center of the Philippines, life does not simply begin…it begins anew.
This 2009, CCP marks its 40th anniversary with a year-round celebration that will feature special performances and events clustered around the themes “Excellence of Filipino Artists; Brave New Works: Original Filipino Creations; and Cultural Empowerment: Flourishing of the Arts in the Regions.”
The 40th Anniversary Celebration will be launched during the annual CCp Pasinaya Open House Festival slated February 1 and will coincide with the National Arts Month in February.
Pasinaya 2009 showcases sneak previews of forthcoming performances from the CCP resident companies and artists.
This year, various shows and programs are lined up for the entire year. Among them:
