Boracay Hotel? Stay at The Taj Guesthouse!

When Nina, Gail, Marc, Melo and I recently went to Boracay Island, we stayed at The Taj Guesthouse at the Boat Station 2, beachfront.

I have been to the Island Paradise of Boracay several times but the Taj Guesthouse is probably one of the best accommodations in its category.

Bacolaodiat Festival 2009 – Chinese New Year Celebrations

Bacolod City, Philippines is all set to host the 4th edition of the BacoLaodiat Festival slated January 23-26. BacoLaodiat is Bacolod?s way of celebrating the Chinese New Year. The term BacoLaodiat is a combination of Bacolod and Fookien term ?Laodiat? meaning, celebration.

The four-day Chinese New Year festivities will be marked by lantern parade, streetdancing, and fireworks display.

The Capitol Shopping Center, known as the Chinatown of Bacolod City, Philippines was selected as the venue of the Bacolaodiat Festival 2009. A lantern Park which will be setup here will be opened on the opening day on January 23.

Large illuminated lanterns featuring the 12 signs of the Chinese Zodiac will also be displayed around the Festival Site during the entire Lunar New Year Celebrations.

On January 25, traditional Dragon dancers, drum beaters colorful floats and lanterns will parade along the main thoroughfares of Bacolod leading to the Bacolod City Public Plaza.

The City Plaza will also be adorned with large dragons and the 12 Chinese Zodiac Signs.

A streetdancing Competition will also be held on January 24 which will feature 10 groups. The streetdance will commence at SM Bacolod leading to the Festival Site. The event starts at 6:30PM.

SEAir’s 2 new Airbus to be delivered 1Q of 2009, goes international

MANILA, Jan. 6 (PNA) ? Despite the spiraling fuel prices and incursion of the major carriers, South East Asian Airlines (SEAir) will acquire two new airbuses which are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2009.

Avelino Zapanta, SEAir president, said this is the many firsts of SEAir this 2009.
