SEAIR petitions Civil Aeronautics Board to drop fuel charges
Posted by on February 7, 2009
Southeast Asian Airlines (SEAIR) has petitioned the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) to lift its fuel surcharges from its prevailing air fares. A one-way trip to Boracay, SEAIR’s most popular destination, will be as low as PhP 350, inclusive of all charges.
Its petition follows the recent rollback of global oil prices. Insurance and aviation security surcharges will remain the same for SEAIR.
“This is our good news for 2009. This becomes more significant especially in the midst of the looming financial crisis in other countries,” said Avelino Zapanta, President of SEAIR.
He added that SEAIR believes the flying public deserves the best value for money, in fulfillment of their mission to create customer centric products.
SEAIR is the nation’s second-oldest airline and has flown almost 3 million passengers to 11 local destinations including Busuanga, Puerto Princesa, Batanes, Romblon, Clark, Borongan, Zamboanga, Jolo, and Tawi-tawi. Just recently, SEAIR started flying over international waters to Kota Kinabalu. SEAIR prides itself on having the fastest direct flights to Boracay, Busuanga, and Batanes.
