Revisiting the centuries-old Bacolod Cathedral
Posted by on February 8, 2009
When one is in Bacolod City, it would be very impossible not to notice the imposing structure of the Bacolod Cathedral or formally known as the San Sebastian Cathedral. The church sit right in the heart of the City. Located along Rizal Street. Just across the Bacolod City Public Plaza.

The Bacolod Cathedral is the seat of the Diocese of Bacolod. A Bishop’s Palace also stands beside it. Built in 1876, San Sebastian Cathedral was constructed using coral stones dug from the seas in nearby Guimaras province.
One the right side of the church yard are two church bells that were lowered from its belfry. These centuries old bells were displayed on the right side of the are. It has been removed from the belfry after it has marked its 100 years. The larger bell, already has a large crack on its side.

It is not a challenge to go to the Bacolod Cathedral, since most of the jeepneys plying the route within Bacolod passes by this area.

ganda talagang kuhanan ang simbahan na yan. hirap lang kung yung buong simbahan ang kunin dahil may daan.
mas ok na yung watermark mo ngayon. dyan siguradong wala ng makakalusot.
Very informative blog it is, also the pictures are very nice. I always like to read those blog in which talked about some old places & buildings.
