Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009 Photos
Posted by on February 14, 2009
I was in Clark Field Pampanga yesterday to cover the 14th edition of the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. The trip from Manila to Clark was a breeze. No traffic jams at 3AM. But it was frigging cold in Pampanga. Good thing I was wearing jeans yesterday.

At around 5AM, more than a dozen of Hot air balloons were slowly inflated and in the next few minutes, I was awed by all these gigantic balloons spread across an open field.
What a sight to behold! there was a coffee mug, a tiger, a cola bottle, and an elephant! Young kids were cheering loudly as they get to see each balloons slowly lifting off the ground.

The Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2009 in Clark is participated by 25 countries and I guess this is probably the biggest edition so far.
You can still enjoy this great spectacle! The Hot Air Balloon in Clark Pampanga will held until tomorrow February 15, 2009. Be there very very early as balloons are normally started to inflate at around 5AM. and since it is a weekend tomorrow, it is expected that the crowd could swell to thousands.

Many thanks to Nino Carandang of Digital Photographer Philippines Magazine for allowing me to cover this marvelous event.
Check out the short clip I recorded last Friday:
