BYAHILO in Chocolate Hills in Bohol!

When one mentions that name Bohol, it would be impossible to not conjure the images of chocolate hills in one’s mind. These limestone cliffs are probably the top tourist destination in Bohol.

The chocolate Hills, which numbers up to around 1,700 are actually limestone hills. What is unique with this attraction is that all the hills have the same shape. though height varies.

The hills are scattered across the towns of Sagbayan, Batuan, and Carmen. But the tallest and the most number of hills are found in the town of Carmen. It is also here where the Chocolate Hills viewing deck is located.

During summer time, the grasses along the hills dry up which then turn into brown in color. When viewed from afar, the hills then would look like Hershey’s chocolate kisses. A popular chocolate candy that is also conical in shape.

Every year thousands of tourists go to Bohol just to see this great attaction.

The Chocolate Hills in Bohol has already been declared as the third National Geological Monument and has also been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tentative List.
